the sisterhood of john tucker
tobi came over and let us turn him into a girl for an evening.
we improvised a slumber party with a midnight dinner (asian rice… with squash, mango, cashew nuts) – after which we piled up mattresses, pillows, a blanket on ana’s floor and settled down to watch silly movie #1 (John Tucker Must Die) and silly movie #2 ( The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants).
can’t believe that today is friday!
apart from the fact that I got a billion things done today – I am proud to announce that, as I have finally registered at the local police station, brought in all the papers, photos, passport,… I am not an illegal immigrant anymore – this evening really felt like a sunday.. so knowing I have a whole weekend ahead of me (also considering I’ve got to read Twelfth Night by tuesday – go, Shakespeare, go, go!) was kind of a relief.
Still no sign of my Murder Mystery merch – the evil norwegian postal service strikes back..let’s just hope for the best!
21 and invincible.
I feel I have to comment on this really day I had … tuesday..
it was totally amazing because the day was so incredibly sunny. the leaves were so yellow and the sky so blue that it seemed like a photoshopped landscape (as proven here). In the morning it was nicely cold – the grass was shining with dew.
I went to the public library – which is one of my favorite places in Bergen – to return my book, then I went to the record store and bought this, which made me happy. Just because.
I hung out with a bunch of cats by the church, met Ana and Stefan for lunch and then tried to find a pair of jeans for an acceptable price. yes, because I don’t know if holes in my jeans right at the crotch are a good idea…
so here are my Fretex-findings
a bee sweater!
jeans!
of course my day wouldn’t have been perfect without this:
someone’s gonna be making muffins soon…..
Eurotrip.
This is a really awful movie.
It does help to cheer you up though, when things are a little awkward or not so great. I watched it tonight with my wonderful flatmate Ana and we laughed at every silly little joke :)
(Borat was our original pick… I guess that’s for next time.)
things to look forward to this week:
- (almost) NO CLASSES
- special phone calls :)
- I’m making cinnamon rolls!
- dinner with stefan and ana tomorrow
- getting new books from the public library.
- The Murder Mystery EP+ shirt being shipped to my doorstep
- getting that new phone number thing sorted out, seriously
I thank you from the heart
thank you stefan :)
last-minute icing
Saturday night we celebrated baby-Etienne’s birthday.
we got him an awesome balloon that Hiroki couldn’t help but start playing with straight away. (I think his biggest dream is to join Cirque du Soleil.)
on the other side, it reads “I [heart] Étienne” but people seemed to enjoy playing with the Porno side more.
andrew+random unidentified facial expression
After dinner, Étienne got his presents. For the unwrapping ceremony, he was handed the magnificent “polka dot birthday shirt”.
for a suicidal Étienne
for a horny Étienne

at the beach
last friday was too sunny for us NOT to hang out outside and pretend we’re at the beach. towels, books, music, and SUNGLASSES.
amazing, right?
don’t diss Bergen!
say hello and wave goodbye
too many people, too little time..
there’s a lot of people around at the moment, school has started and is good – guest lecturers from scandinavia and the united states, tutorials, my computer has been fixed (I need to make muffins for the technicians who fixed it and made it sound all pretty. now I have a norwegian keyboard though, it’s funny).
the sun is shining, I miss messengerbird..
the seagulls are quieter than in Trondheim, but bigger.
Yesterday I saw a man getting his hat blown away by the wind…
fløyen
today was a pretty sunny day – believe it or not. we went on an IKEA excursion with Patrick – because that’s what cool kids do – after which Anna and I decided to undertake a HIKE in the mountains. okay, fine. not much of a hike, more like a little excursion with the fløibanen to the top of a mountain and back, with a tad bit of walking in-between. on our way there, we met some crazy norwegians; by the time we got back into town, we realised that all norwegians are crazy. they go jogging in the mountains, they flash past you with their mountain bikes and almost run you over, fast enough to give you a heart attack.
these guys are obviously sexy.
around Fløyen, there were a lot of lakes.
this place really reminded us of a lake close to Flisa.
we saw a duck. it was cute and lonely.
lake number 2 was so much better than lake number 1 – but there were no ducks there. buy us some?
a bear tried to strangle Anna with its huge wooden paws.
I obviously had to show off my climbing-down-without-falling-into-the-water skills.
good, eh?
lake number 3, lake number 4
we went to a random hut that was closed and checked out rusty nails and wooden boards and a spider making its web for ages.
I was three years old when this was etched in the wood…
the view was lovely…
and so was the sunshine.
it tends to make up for the shitty, rainy days..
