Wickerbird’s video The Fold takes us on visual journey through fields and woods. Accompanied by a quiet child, we’ve seen landscapes like these before, maybe because Sigur Rós took us there and so did Bon Iver, but this is slightly different. The steps we follow through neighbourhoods are beautifully uneasy like a baby’s first steps, Wickerbird‘s layered vocals are haunting, and the imagery speaks clear: this is a song about growth and rebirth.
My name has five letters in it, and comes up in some Bright Eyes songs. I am (apparently) an artist, with too much time on her hands. Well, enough to blog (almost) daily. I am 1/4 (the smallest one, actually) of Lazy Acre Records; I also write & photograph for a
localmagazine based in Englaaand and makeused to draw musically-inspired comics for a canadian mag (RIP Inscribed). As if that wasn't enough, I book bands for a local experimental music venue called Subterrarium: we rock pretty hard. Sometimes I can be quite cute. I used tostill have a crush on Marty McFly; I like baking, overusing semi-colons, the smell of the sea, and thunderstorms.
I tend to be quite the busy bee, but if you make VERY sexy music and want me to listen and enjoy and possibly even (!!) write about it, shoot me a mail, baby. music(at)alicetragedy(dot)org
