I might be obsessing a bit too much over Bon Iver‘s latest album (as you might have gathered from my review). There is something terribly catchy and beautiful about it; the video for the first single Calgary, however, is incredibly bizarre. From the lake on fire to an awkward bear-like figure on a bed to people dressed in white with dirty feet… This video is maybe everything that For Emma wasn’t, and something which Justin Vernon could hardly have thought up some years ago.
Strangely enough, I am reminded from beginning to end of the video for the Antlers’ Bear; maybe because I connect both artists, songs, records, to the very same person. And strange, but beautiful nevertheless, it is definitely worth watching.
